Abstract

The level of plasma rennin activity in normotensive (NTR), metacorticoide (MHR), spontaneous hypertensive (SHR) and spontaneous hypertensive stroke prone rats (SHR/SP) has been studied and the results presented in this report.

Plasma rennin activity was determined by radioimmunoassay technique, according the method of Haber et al.

The results presented in this report indicate an increase of plasma rennin activity both in SHR and SHR/SP, and a decrease of it in MHR, compared with normotensive control rats (NTR).
