About the Journal

ABOUT US

Archives of Public Health (Arch Pub Health) is an open access medical scientific journal published by Institute of Public Health of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Arch Pub Health is an international, modern, general medical journal covering all areas in the medical sciences, from basic studies to large clinical trials and cost-effectiveness analyses. We publish mostly epidemiological and clinical human studies that are looking for etiology and epidemiology of diseases, diseases prevention, the development of prognostic and diagnostic technologies; trials that test the efficacy of specific interventions and those that compare different treatments. We aim to promote translation of basic research into clinical investigation, and of clinical evidence into practice. Our audience is the international medical community as well as educators, policy makers, patient advocacy groups, and interested members of the public around the world.

All manuscripts are sent in electronic form to the e-mail address of the Institute for Public Health (g.ristovska@iph.mk; ristovskagordana@gmail.com), with double spacing and up to 28 lines per page. Left, up and down should be left a free margin of at least 3 cm, and to the right of 2.5 cm. The line number of the pages is written in the right upper corner. The manuscript of the paper should be accompanied by a letter from the first author, stating that the same text has not already been published or submitted / accepted for printing in another journal or expert publication and with the confirmation that the manuscript has been reviewed and approved by all the co-authors, a declaration of eventual conflict of interest by one of the authors.

The original and expert papers and communications have the following formal order: title page, abstract in Macedonian language with key words, abstract in English language with keywords, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion, conclusions, references, appendices (tables, graphs and images) and legends about the appendices.

The front page should have: title in Macedonian and English, names and surnames of authors, as well as the institutions in which they belong in Macedonian and English, the names of the authors and the title of the institution are linked with Arabic numerals; author for correspondence with details (email); category of paper; as well as a written contribution to the work of each author (idea, design, data collection, statistical processing, writing of paper). The title should concisely express the content of the paper. It is recommended to avoid the use of abbreviations in the title.

The abstract in the Macedonian language should contain a maximum of 350 words (original paper), ie 250 (expert paper) and refer to all relevant factors presented in the paper: a brief account of the introduction and aim of the paper, the material and method, the important results (with numerical data) and basic conclusions. Along with the extract, several keyword index words (maximum 5) should be submitted.

The abstract in English language must contain the title of the paper, translated also in English. The content of the English abstract should be identical with the content of the abstract in Macedonian.

The introduction should be a brief and clear overview of the problem and goals of the problem the research, citing the ethics committee ie the institution that approved the examination (a clinical study that works according to the principles of the Helsinki Patient Declaration and their rights).

The Material and methods need to be accurately designated to allow the repetition of the research to be repeated. It is especially important to specify the criteria for selection of the cases observed, the introduced modifications of the already known methods, as well as the identification of the used drugs according to the generic name, doses and manner of administration.

The Results should be shown in a straightforward way. The results are presented in the standard SI units. In the text, specify the optimal place where the tables and illustrations will be inserted, in order to avoid the unnecessary repetition of the data presented. The significance of the results is statistically processed, with a detailed description of the statistical methods used.

The Discussion should emphasize the implications of the results obtained, compared to the existing knowledge of the problem under investigation.

The Conclusions should not be longer than 150 words.
